Patients are eligible for care with St Peter's Hospice if:
- They are over 18 years old
- They have a progressive, life-limiting illness, such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease or a neurological disease
- They live in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset or part of BANES
We also offer support to family members or carers even if the person they care for has declined our offer of support.
Patients are usually referred by a health or social care professional such as their GP, a district nurse or hospital teams.
After someone has been referred to the hospice they will receive a telephone call from our triage nurse to discuss what happens next. The nurse will introduce the Hospice services and support we offer, and also assess any urgent issues. The triage nurse will advise which hospice services can best meet the patient's needs at this time.
We recognise that people's needs can change over time - that's why our range of services offer different types of support at different times.
