Our Care

Who we care for

We care for people with a life-limiting illness or those approaching death. If you're over 18 and live in Bristol, South Gloucestershire or North Somerset, we're here for you.

At St Peter's Hospice, we know that everyone is unique. That's why our care is tailored to you. Whether your needs are physical, emotional, spiritual or social, we'll help you face the future with courage, comfort and dignity.

If you've just been referred to us, you're probably experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions. Shock. Relief. Fear. Acceptance. And that's totally normal. Whatever you're feeling, rest assured that from now on, we'll be by your side every step of the way. Whatever comes next, we'll face it together.

We imagine you've got thousands of questions running through your mind - and we're ready to answer them. But if you want some answers right now, have a look at our Patient Guide. It gives you an overview of the care we offer at St Peter’s, plus a useful list of key contact details.

We want you to be able to access information about St Peter's in the way that works for you. Where we care

Most of the time, we come to you. We support you in the comfort of your own home. As well as offering expert care, we learn where you keep the tea bags, how to avoid that noisy creak on the stairs and what time your favourite TV show starts.

We also care for patients in our hospice in Brentry. We have 15 spacious en-suite rooms, all with sliding doors opening out onto our tranquil gardens. We know that being somewhere different can feel daunting at first. But please don't worry. We'll go out of our way to make you feel at home with us.

We know that your needs can change. That's why we offer different types of support at different times. But whether you're in your own room or one of ours, we're dedicated to giving you the highest standards of care and support.

Our teams

You've got a lot to take in right now. So we'll keep this simple: we'll be here for you when you need us most.

Once you're referred to St Peter's, you might receive care and support from a range of our teams. Nurses. Doctors. Therapists. Healthcare assistants. Social workers. Our multi-faith team.

We've updated our look

We want everyone to get the care they deserve, which is why we're aiming to double the number of people we support by 2030.

To achieve this, we're delighted to introduce you to our updated look. Research carried out last year revealed there were many barriers to people accessing our support. Our modernised look helps breaks down misconceptions about St Peter's, which will help us connect with more of our local communities.
